mnoGoSearch (udmsearch) seems to be best search engine there is now. But I miss few quite important features (substring and regexp search), also I like to see use of "+" and "-" like in Altavista.

After "testing" a few search engines, I found udmsearch, which uses rel. DBs. I installed it and was really impressed.
Indexing takes a long time (several hours) on my P90, but searching for more than one word doesn't take more than 5-10 seconds.

Excellent. Just what I was looking for, a search engine which uses perl and MySQL.
Be warned it gets really confused if URLs are generated using JavaScript.

This stuff is great! We were using htdig before.
This was much nicer to setup. udmsearch + mysql
setup was alot less of a headache then htdig.
